A Renewed Mind
Picture in your mind if you will, a flower, starving for water and withered by the scorching sun. It's stem to weak to hold it's flowering bud, drooping sadly towards the ground. The flower so deprived of water, begins to whither, wrinkle, and lose its beauty. However, with a little care and a lot of water, what happens to the flower, the stem, and the overall appearance of the plant as a whole? Of course, we all know the answer to this, right? Even if you don't have a "green thumb"? The plant is thirsty for water, and when it gets the water it needs, it is revived! The strength of the stem returns, to proudly lift up the flower which has also regained its beauty and splendor! How similar can we be with our weary minds if we do not "water" our minds with the Word of God! Our soul becomes thirsty for divine instruction and inspiration from almighty God, but if we stray too far from His Word, our mind can become too dehydrated to water our soul. The more we conform to the ideologies, cultures, the pleasures of this age, the further our minds stray from God and His Holy Word. We become dry and withered spiritually to the point that our soul droops like a wilting flower because it is lacking the watering of God's Holy and Divine Words to us. We are no longer strong enough to stand firm and hold up, like a beautiful flower, the ability to discern what is the good, pleasing and perfect will of God. The beauty of God's will in our lives no longer looks as good as it did when we did not conform and we stayed renewed in our minds to seek God's will in our lives! How is your mind right now? Are you transforming yourself through the daily renewing of your mind through God's Word, looking for His perfect will in your life? Or are you not seeking His will as much as you should and have found yourself conforming to the things of this age that draw your attention away from God's will. Are your desires to seek Him and his will for your life drying up? Is your soul crying out, thirsting for a drink from the well? If you find yourself desiring to get into God's Word, feeling the need to go to church on a Sunday, or get back into the right groups of people, that's the call of God and His Spirit working inside you! Your soul is naturally drawn to it's Creator! It will thirst for Him and all things Holy when you go astray! Maybe you have felt these urges lately, Then now is the time to pray to Almighty God for forgiveness for conforming to this age instead of His will for your life, and start watering your mind and soul every day. Perhaps now is the time to regain your strength through Him and separate yourself from the things of this age and begin once again to discern what is the good, pleasing and perfect will of God for your life.
